Here are some locations we chose that are significant to the story...
Chicago:
The storyline starts off in Chicago, Illinois. This is where Colin and Hassan's families live, as well as Katherine XIX. Chicago is their hometown, right before their long journey begins. "

Tennessee:
Colin and Hassan end up in a little town in Gutshot, Tennessee. They were just going to pass through the town but found a nice place to stay and a paying job. "And so it was not fate, but Colin Singleton's character and passions, his mistakes and weaknesses, that finally brought him to Gutshot, Tennessee" (Green, 29).

The House:
This is the house that Colin and Hassan stay at. This house is owed by Hollis, a giant factory owner, and Lindsey, the daughter of Hollis. We chose this location because this is where most of the story takes place, and becomes of importance to both Colin and Hassan. "As they climbed the hill, it became clear that the street was actually a long driveway, which dead-ended into the largest single-family residence that Colin had ever personally laid eyes upon. Also, it was glaringly, bubblegummingly, Pepto-Bismolly pink" (Green, 58).

The Cave:
This is Lindsey's secret hide out where she always escapes to. She brings Colin here towards the end of the novel. Here they share secrets with each other that no one else is aware of. We decided to use this location because it is a meaningful representation of the book, relating to the main characters (Colin and Lindsey). "Wow," said Colin. Approximately square, the cave's only room was big enough to lie down comfortably in any direction, although the gray-brown ceiling sloped down toward the back, making it hard to stand in a lot of places. it contained a blanket, a sleeping bag, several old throw pillows, and one unmarked Mason jar filled with some sort of liquid" (Green, 146).
